BYOP stands for Bring Your Own Phone. With TracFone’s Bring Your Own Phone program, you can get TracFone service on your current phone as long as it is compatible with our BYOP program. Compatible phones include: GSM Unlocked phones, AT&T Compatible phones, and some CDMA Technology Compatible phones. To check if your phone is compatible, select the “CHECK COMPATIBILITY” option at tracfonewireless.com/byop.

To check if your phone is compatible, select the "CHECK COMPATIBILITY" option at tracfonewireless.com/byop, and enter your phone’s IMEI or MEID. If your phone is compatible, the process will allow you to register it. If your phone is not compatible, you will receive a message indicating so as soon as you enter the IMEI or MEID and zip code.
Review the following guidelines to check if you’ll need a TracFone BYOP SIM. You can also use our "CHECK COMPATIBILITY" tool in tracfonewireless.com/byop, which will give you details on what you will need to get your service set-up.
If your phone is an Unlocked GSM Phone or compatible with AT&T, use the AT&T Compatible SIM. If you have a CDMA LTE compatible phone use the CDMA Compatible LTE SIM.
If your phone is a CDMA LTE compatible phone, and your BYOP Activation Package did not include a CDMA compatible LTE SIM, please select "REGISTER CDMA" in tracfonewireless.com/byop and follow the steps. When asked, select that you do not have a SIM and we will ship you one.
If your phone is a CDMA compatible phone, you will need to register it before you activate it by selecting the "REGISTER CDMA" option in tracfonewireless.com/byop and following the steps.
Your phone must be LTE Technology and compatible with one of our Bring Your Own Phone Programs then follow the steps described on the question "How can I obtain TracFone BYOP service?"
First, mouse over the "ACTIVATION" button at the top of this page. Then, select "ACTIVATE GSM" or "ACTIVATE CDMA" and follow the steps. Make sure to select the correct option if you are transferring your line. Please note that you will need a TracFone Airtime Card or credit or debit card to activate your service. Before you activate remember that you need to select your SIM card if you need one, and register your phone if you have a CDMA compatible phone.
